today

Today we are a church of over a hundred congregants who serve in the DFW metroplex and across Japan. We also have church plants in Houston, TX; Detroit, MI; Yokohama, Japan; Matsuyama, Japan; and Asahikawa, Japan. We give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ as He has always helped us, led us, and been with us.

2021

April 2021: Pastor Okita’s church in Asahikawa, Japan, became  ICC Asahikawa.

2020

October 2020: ICC started “BECOMING” (English/Japanese), a discipleship course.

March 2020: Started hosting Bible studies (English/Japanese) online.

March 2020: Pastor Yamada started the church   ICC Ehime, in Matsuyama, Japan, which grew from a Bible study she led in her home since 2013.

January 2020: Started Youtube live stream of Sunday sermons.

2016

September 2016:  ICC Rockwall held its last service and was closed.

2014

September 2014: ICC started Mama Lounge, an outreach ministry to Japanese mothers.

August 2014: Pastor & Mrs. Motegi started the church ICC Detroit in Michigan.

2013

December 2013: Pastor Nishi became pastor of ICC Houston.

January 2013: ICC opened Hosanna Preschool for Japanese-speaking families.

2011

October 2011: Pastor Elijah & Mrs. Kunisawa (son and daughter-in-law of Pastor Nori Kunisawa) started the church   ICC Japan in Yokohama, Japan.

March 2011: ICC purchased its own church building in Flower Mound, TX, and established regular worship services.

January 2011: Pastor Kunisawa started visiting Houston, TX, to share the gospel as well as to seek a new pastor for ICC Houston.

2010

October 2010: Relocated to Metrocrest Community Church in Coppell, TX.

August 2010: Pastor & Mrs. Tahara returned to Japan and no pastor was assigned for   ICC Houston.

April 2010: Relocated to Relevant Life Church in Lewisville, TX, with Living Hope Church.

2009

January 2009: Bro. Okubo returned to Japan and Pastor & Mrs. Tahara came from Japan to Houston to be pastors for ICC Houston.

2007

October 2007: Relocated to Living Hope Church in Coppell, TX.

August 2007: Relocated with Vista Ridge Church to a new location in Carrollton, TX.

2006

October 2006: Started additional services in Rockwall, TX, as   ICC Rockwall.

February 2006: Relocated to Vista Ridge Church in Carrollton, TX.

January 2006: Bro. Minori Okubo was sent to Houston, TX, as a missionary.

2002

December 2002: Relocated to Agape Church in Farmers Branch, TX.

2000

January 2000: Renamed the church to  International Christian Church (ICC).

1999

September 1999: Started hosting church services at Richardson Presbyterian Church.

June 1999: Sis. Okawa returned to Korea and Bro. Noritaka Kunisawa became the new leader.

January 1999: The Kunisawa family (6 of them) and a Korean evangelist, Sis. Tatsuko Okawa, started a home church and named it Koumyou Church. [“Koumyou” means “glory; hope; bright future.”]
