Welcome!

We’re so glad you’re interested in joining us on Sunday

Our church service begins at 10:30 am with prayer. Then the live band leads us through worship, where we stand together to sing the songs projected on the front screen. Most of our worship is conducted in English, but some songs are in Japanese. Japanese songs include romaji beneath the Japanese letters on the screen so that anyone can sing along if they wish. After worship we have a time of announcements and greeting our first-time visitors before dismissing the children to their classes. At this point, we transition to the sermon.

At ICC we use a unique service rotation so that you can hear a sermon in your native language without translation at least once a month. Depending on the week, we may have a joint service where there is live translation on stage (pastor and translator alternating), a joint service preached in English with live Japanese translation via radio receiver (you can request a receiver from the ushers), or split service (congregants will move to the space where their language will be preached without translation). They will say during announcements which week it is, but you can also consult the paper bulletin you’ll receive when you enter the building.

After service please pick up your children, as we cannot allow them to leave their classes without you present for their safety. We always have an optional time of fellowship after the service, often including lunch, so please stay! We’d love to get to know you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I attend services even though I am not a Christian?

Yes! Everyone is welcome to our Sunday services. We love visitors!

How should I dress?

Feel free to wear what makes you comfortable. Most members wear dressy-casual or casual.

IS THERE CHILDCARE?

We encourage families to worship together. Please keep your children with you during the first part of the service.

If you need a separate place to attend to your baby, there is a “nursery” just outside of the sanctuary doors where you can enjoy the service through a PA system. But you and your baby are welcome to stay in the sanctuary.

During the sermon, children ages 9 months through fifth grade have weekly programs divided by age that they can attend in the activity building next door. Infants under 9 months must stay with their parents.

Sixth through twelfth graders are encouraged to attend regular service unless there is a youth service that week (once a month); it will be noted in the bulletin and during announcements.

You can find more details under  Ministries.

Do I have to know English/Japanese to attend? Will there be translation?

As a multicultural congregation, all of our Sunday gatherings are conducted with both native and non-native English speakers in mind. Though our service is led with English, we use both English and Japanese worship songs, and have both English and Japanese options during sermons. Please see the details above.

How long does your Sunday worship service last?

While we don’t have a set ending time, each service usually lasts for about an hour and a half. There’s always an optional time of fellowship after the service, often including lunch. Please stay so we can get to know each other!

Is there Sunday School?

Yes! We have two Sunday Schools for adults (one in English, one in Japanese) and a joint kids Sunday School. All take place before the worship service and begin at 9:30 am in the activity building.

⚠ Sunday School is temporarily canceled due to COVID restrictions.

Do you stream your services online?

Yes! If you are unable to attend our services in person for any reason, we encourage you to watch our  live stream on YouTube instead.
